Star Destroyer... Orbitting Elom...
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *It had not been long at all since the relocation.... It was only a bit less than twelve hours before she'd felt the first pang of a contraction had she stepped off of Elom, and shortly thereafter arrived onto the Jedi's newly acquired Star Destroyer... Immediately, she'd been ordered to be taken to the Medbay to be checked out more thoroughly. They had much more advanced equipment and resources here, it only made sense... When everything proved to be okay, Jeryndi had escorted her to a set of designated quarters to her, help her unpack what little posessions she had, and then put her to bed... He'd set up the monitor and sensors, then settled down to stay with her... Kabe had other preparations to make, but what they were was completely beyond the young Padawan... -c-
Jeryndi had not bothered to distract the Jedi Master from his duties, but sent a light touch through the Force... and delivered a simple message... Leiyn's having contractions. Thought you should know... Of course, given the strong link between Leiyn and Kabe, the wookiee Jedi might have already known... Still, a med-droid had been sent for, though they'd not relocate her to the Medbay until the hours of slow contractions had passed.. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe was still down on the planet, along with the boys and Malla, helping with the move, using their massive wookiee strength where it was needed, occasionally he was using a touch of the Force as well. They were also taking some of the eqipment too, so their mechanical and technical expertise was of value there as well. As the first contraction came Kabe stopped, and looked up toward the sky, even though he was a mile down under the surface. He felt the change in Leiyn, and then almost on the heels of what he felt, came the message from Jeryndi. He turned to Malla. "It's getting about that time, love. Go ahead and have Fade take you up there in the Legacy." She nodded, and finished loading her set of materials. He knew he would be following in short order, but now he doubled his pace. <c>
The critical hours would be approaching soon and he needed what work he had to do complete by then. Already there was a new energy about his white frame. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Those hours passed agonizingly slow for Leiyn and Jeryndi... Finally, when they came to be about half hour apart, they took her to the medbay and hooked up the sensors and whatnot to monitor her labor more extensively... They'd trusted Jeryndi to tell them if something was wrong before that-- and it just got to the ponit where she needed to be in the medbay and not her own bed... As of yet, she hadn't complained of pain. Or discomfort. Or... anything... She only whined about little things, but never the big things. Kabe-- and Jeryndi-- had both learned that the hard way... One had to watch her expressions carefully, see it in her eyes, before one could tell whether or not she was actually in pain... Jeryndi never left her side, not once, and held her hand... -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Those hours had passed slow for Kabe as well. He'd worked hard, but the thing that made them slow was the nature of waiting. Waiting took patience and effort, and he was not short on either one, but with things hanging in the balance it was hard to do what he was needed for. Instead though, his connection with Leiyn would grow quietly, subtly stronger. She may not have been aware of it. but over the hours he built it slowly, by keeping his mind and spirit focused on her, he was as aware of her conditions as those monitors and sensors were, but he was also aware of her on a personal level. Malla had been coming and going aboard the star destroyer, checking on her from time to time to see if she was alright, or needed anything but Jeryndi was taking good care of her. Once Malla had <c>
finished with some of her things, she joined them in the med bay, only to be met minutes later by the Albino, and another guest. The boys had opted to be elsewhere, so they were not present, but were close at hand, acting almost as an honor guard. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn -was- aware of it... She'd felt him checking up on her, felt Jeryndi never wavering in his resolve to stay with her... Even when they'd come to draw blood and had poked her a couple of times with needles to give her fluids... As much as he -hated- needles, not even that scared him away to leave her there... When Malla and Kabe came, Jeryndi was standing next to her bunk/bed, massaging the hand she'd been squeezing during her contractions... Amazingly enough, she'd not actually broken the bones yet. But at times during those contractions, he might have sworn that she had done just that... When the contractions were close enough, and she was fully dilated, the doctors asked her to push... She didn't want to, wasn't ready, and immediately turned to Kabe for support. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] As the Jedi Master flowed into the room, he seemed to radiate calm, but with focused purpose. He touched the technicians each in turn with the Force, and drew them into one, cohesive purpose, melding them all into seamless teamwork. He did this as he brushed back Leiyn's hair. Building them slowly into the meld he was making, he would have a little bit of time before it was complete. In the meantime he softly spoke with her, asking her what she was afraid of, or if it she felt it simply wasn't time yet. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn shook her head, tears coming to her eyes. She wanted to push. Needed[/i] to push... But something inside her had broken... This was the final test of her strength, at least as far as pregnancy went, and she feared that she would fail miserably... Even though she had a Jedi Master here with her, a she-wook who was almost like a mother to her, and a Jedi Padawan who had quickly earned himself the position as the mischevious little brother all here with her, she didn't want to take that final step... Into motherhood. Into what-could-be-but-probably-won't-be death... She didn't say anything, but it came pouring from her through their connection in the Force, tears leaking from her eyes... before she finally started to flat out sob. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe seemed to grow very old in those few moments as he continued to stroke her hair. A look of understanding crossed his face and he brushed at her tears. He looked at Malla, and in that one look they shared, there seemed to be a conversation.. the kind of thing that passes between two people who have been together for years, and share a deep and strong connection to each other. Quietly she wuffled softly to Leiyn. Both of them had seemed to age, despite both being young for wookiees. "Leiyn, being a mother, and giving birth is not easy. We know you're scared, and in pain. Do not fear though. You are with friends, and your children. Let them take their first breaths of life among the larger world so that you can show them all the beauty, and joy within the galaxy. Let them see all of <c>
those joys that you've experienced. Let them come, to learn, and grow, and to touch the Force, and share the light they too can bring. This.. galaxy is such a big playground, and it can be harsh, but you know, as well as both of us, that not everything is as hard as we might think. You want to raise your children well, we both know. You made a promise, to yourself. Honor that. We will help you, all of us will. There is nothing to fear." Both of them were speaking the same words, as though it came from one mind, one heart. Only a very long time together could have brought forth such a harmony between the two. Finally, Kabe took up speaking alone. "You will feel no pain, so that you may bring your children into this world," he said quietly, in an almost hypnotic tone as he passed his <c>
hand before her eyes. It was a command through the Force.. something of an Alter technique. In a way it was a recanting of part of the Jedi Code. "A Jedi does not know pain." There were facets to the code that were not written per se, but were implied, and this was one of those things. He had used such a thing in the past before, and as a result had immeadiately been relieved of the pain he felt. "Feel no fear, help is near," he continued, and then fell silent as once again he took her hand. "Do what is needed, and let the Force guide you, and you will come out of it alright." <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *The young mother-to-be could only bite her lip to suppress her sobs now... She wished she had the stability of someone who was in good health. Then she would not have to worry so much about -not- being here for her children... The moment was here and she could not avoid it any longer.... Even as the pain of her labor dissipated, she was still turning over the wookiees' words in her head... Finding truth-- not just truth, but absolute truth-- in those words... She had made a promise. She had to live... And then... the familiar words. A Jedi does not know pain[/i]... She'd vowed to become a Jedi again. Finally... At long last, she had reason to want to be a Jedi... She'd have made the same decision after her ordeal on Ord Mantell... Whether or not she'd been pregnant... -c-
What was there, truly, to be afraid of? ... The young woman was trembling already from the tension in her muscles... And she laughed shakily, even through her tears. Whatever happens would happen... It was the Will of the Force... And she had no choice but to succumb to it. Another test-- to give her faith entirely over to the Force. Was she ready to become a Jedi again? Probably not... Besides, her littles came first from now on... And so-- (and so and so forth, yack yack, yadda yadda) she took Kabe's hand... and Jeryndi's... and squeezed them both... and pushed... Jeryndi remained silent throughout, even though now he looked as if he was about to scream from the pain she was inflicting on his hand... a moment of humor, even in a painful and overwhelmingly emotional moment... -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] He felt her hand tighten on his, as her knuckles went white. He smiled softly and returned her grip, as well as using the Force to flow into her. Their bond had been forged through many months of personal trials and journeys, and they had become like family, but now he went a step beyond, binding himself to her, and her to him through the Force. His strength became hers, and her efforts became his, as he slipped his other hand behind her back, supporting her. He'd felt something release inside of her, that last wall.. he felt her make that leap of faith, and now -he- had a promise to fullfil, and that was to keep her safe. He would not let go, and he would not allow her to let go either. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn could feel their bond strengthening... The binding was a bit more than she had been ready for, but she was glad for his strength and emotional stability... He would not let her fall. He would keep her safe. It was a promise that he'd made, but up till now she had been uncertain as to whether he could keep it or not. She pushed, feeling only an intense pressure instead of pain with each contraction... Coached by the doctors, and Kabe, she pushed accordingly... And not long before a dark head of hair could be seen... Jeryndi peeked, then went pale... and looked as if he was going to be sick after seeing the blood and all the other stuff 'down there'. -c-

Rather than throwing up the contents of his stomach, he turned his mind towards humor... which he knew she would appreciate... and said the first thing that came to mind. "Remind me again why I agreed to be here...?" he says softly, still looking like he was going to be sick... Even though there -was- humor in his voice... And Leiyn managed a shakey laugh. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe turned his attention to the boy, his own laugh echoing Leiyn's. "Because you're cool like that," he mused. He turned back to Leiyn, brushing her hair away again, giving her words of encouragement. Malla was doing the same, and Merek was standing behind her head, silent, but lending his support. Merek might have seemed out of place at the moment to those that didn't know his involvement, but he had just as much a right to be here as anyone, especially after the things these two had shared in their own ways. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn was pale, but smiled nonetheless... And nodded. She gave his hand a gentle squeeze, affectionate and apologetic, and murmured... "Because I asked you to be..." she says, then sighs heavily... She took a moment to relax, to catch her breath... and pushed again, on cue... Jeryndi nodded, just before she squeezed his hand again when she pushed. She gave a quiet grunt, counting to ten, then let go of his hand after she'd finished. He jerked it away and shook it out, wincing honestly, but with a quirky expression... "Fuckin--" He stopped himself in the middle of it, then ammended himself. "Curses, woman, you're gonna break my hand!" he muttered. Leiyn gave him a sympathetic smile and laughed. "SO not sorry..." -c-
*The first... came with the next push... She looked down as she felt the babe slip from her, into the doctor's hands. She wanted to see, wanted to touch... and it seemed like an eternity before she heard her son begin to wail. "A boy... Name?" Leiyn was trembling, but knew she still had another to go. Still, even through her slight disorientation, she heard the question and answered immediately. "Alexis..." ...The contractions between the first and the second began almost immediately-- within what seemed like seconds-- and she was urged to push again... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. -c-

She looked up at Kabe, a slight smile upon her lips, and twitched visibly. Jeryndi held her hand from the other side of the bed, wiping away the sweat... Leiyn still stared up at Kabe, wanting some kind of confirmation that Alexis was okay... There was, despite the lack of coloration in the newborn's eyes (as all babies have the same color eyes when they're born..), an overall impression that he had his mother's eyes... Black hair. Grey eyes. Leiyn released Jeryndi's hand and held onto the side of the bed, steadying her breathing... She pulled her other hand away from Kabe's, fingers inching their way up his arm and burying into the fur. Is he okay?[/i] ...Jeryndi took her hand again, preparing for the next contraction and the next push... -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] A glance back, and then to her was all he needed, as his amber eyes glittered with confirmation. He is fine. You're doin' good. One more, and it's over. The wookiee stroked her cheek with the back of his free hand. At the same time Merek spoke up. "He's fine, keep going Leiyn." His voice was a warm bass, as his own grey eyes glinted. He couldn't do much here, other than lend his spiritual support. There was more than enough help on hand. Kabe was doing a very apt job, as was Jeryndi and Malla, and the EmDee droids and the Doctor. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn nodded, forcing a smile. She clenched her eyes tightly shut and pushed again... She'd done okay with the first, but the stress of it all was starting to take its toll... Jeryndi, who'd never lost touch of the Force, was beginning to shift uneasily. Perhaps through Kabe's awareness of her, the binding had conjoined them so tightly, that she felt/saw something tear inside her... By the end of the next push, there was another head visible, this one with extremely light hair... Blonde, by the looks of it... Leiyn grew still between pushes, not bothering to look up at Jeryndi or Kabe. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] He felt something else happen then, and felt her strength waning. He looked over to Jeryndi. Help me, he sent through the Force. The words might not have been clear, but the concept woudl be as clear as though he had thought it inside Jeryndi's own mind. He turned and called a chair to him, and then sat, sinking into the Force completely. Now, he placed a hand over her belly, and through that touch fell into her body, watching through the Force. "Come on, Leiyn, one more push should do it." He once again, lent his strength through the Force, both of spirit and body. "You've come this far, but not to fail." <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn looked up at Kabe, her gray eyes growing dull... and she forced another smile... Upon the doctor's instruction, she pushed... (Heave! Ho! Heave! Ho!)... Jeryndi dove into the full embrace of the Force, his body nearly going slack where he stood. He withdrew, only long enough to pull up a chair, and then sat down again... He gathered himself, his energy, and took Leiyn's hand again... He kinda sucked when it came to Healing and everything else, but he was more than willing to shift every ounce of strength in the Force he had right now to Kabe and Leiyn... Leiyn pushed... and as the second boy slipped from her, as did a steady, but not-too-heavy flow of blood... Not from the womb, not from the placenta, but -fresh- blood... Bright red blood. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] With his connection as strong as it was between the three of them he brought Jeryndi along with him in a rush. Now the Force was building, like a gathering storm. His eyes were closed, but he sought within her, instead of on the surface, searching out the damage. At the same time he breathed life, and living energy into her, along with Jeryndi's own efforts. He knew she ws injured. With her heart hand in his, and his other hand on her belly he was reaching inside her.. but with his 'real' hands. He found the flow, and the tear. He squeezed his eyes tighter, as they rolled up in the back of his head, his physical sight now completely ignored, and being completely disabled so that the power that usually went to processing 80% of that which was taken in.. which was through the eyes, was<c>
put to processing his analysis and connection with her. Leiyn, come with me. Remember Ossus.[/i] It was a call for her to once again fall into the healing trance he had showed her, and had helped her start, and put to good use. He knew that she had used it enough to be able to do it again, without his guidance. At the same time he was already coaxing cells to life, removing damaged cells, breaking them down into their constituant parts with her own biological processes, and taking the pieces and putting them back into feeding the birth and growth of new cells. It was a slow start, but soon, especially with her help, it would speed up. At the same time he coaxed platelets to clot, and blood to bring more nutrients to the site of the damage, and find alternate routes around it so that blood <c>
would not be lost, but would do its job. He knew that ultimately, once she touched the Force herself, and allowed it to help, as well as her subconcious, then she would heal in earnest, but the blood was already starting to stop flowing and seeping, and in a minute or two it would begin to itch. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Leiyn was quickly falling 'under'... She closed her eyes, but found it was hard to open them again... She heard the insisting voice of the Doctor, holding her second child in his arms... Blonde hair. Blue eyes. "Another boy... What do you want to name him?" he asks softly, glancing down at Kabe, trying to keep her mind focused on something important to her while he worked... He trusted the Jedi Master, even if he was worried out of his mind for his patient. Slender fingers reached up, barely caressing the newborn's cheek. "K-K-Keff... ret..." Her voice was barely audible, a shallow and hoarse whisper. She swallowed, then tried again. "Kefret..." Her voice trembled from exhaustion, even with Kabe and Jeryndi's strength... She felt herself slipping away. -c-
The young woman slumped back into the pillows and sheets of the bed, going limp... She was trying her damndest to stay awake, but it seemed like her body was demanding sleep... Perhaps, what barely registered in her mind, a sleep that she'd never wake up from... But she heard Kabe's call... Jedi Healing Trance... Like she'd done on Ossus. Is that was he wanting her to do..? It was all fuzzy in her mind, but Jeryndi was encouraging her to do it, to let go and embrace it... To follow Kabe, to drop into a healing trance. She needed it... The worry from everyone around her barely registered, but it did-- and only about half a second before she fell completely under... Absorbed into the Force, her body became relaxed... Slack, more like... -c-
Jeryndi gave an audible sigh of relief when he felt her fall completely into the trance, and then some, and glanced up at Kabe with his eyes after a long moment... -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe did not stir for a long time, but finally let out a breath he had not been aware he was holding. His grip on her hand relaxex as he felt her go under as well. He stayed that way, for a long time... even though it was only a minute or two to him. That was the thing about immersing oneself so completely in the Force. Time.. had no meaning. Finally, when he felt she was 'out of the jungle', he let go for the most part, and opened his eyes, caressing her cheek softly. He looked over to Jeryndi, and nodded. "Very good, Jeryndi. You did exactly what was needed." Kabe gave the teenager a warm smile, and then took a steadying breath, as a wave of emotion threatned to bowl him over. He looked to the doctor, and stood. "She will sleep now. Probably for six to eight hours, maybe a day.<c>
When she wakes, make sure she takes it slow, but she should be alright. Probably sore. But I think she is out of danger." The doctor nodded, and by the readouts on the monitors, he concurred, and then thanked him. Kabe smiled and nodded, then turned back to Leiyn. He then looked to Malla, and gave her a knowing glance, then looked to Merek. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Jeryndi never wavered, never left her side... Even though Kabe seemed to be enveloped in the Force for what seemed like an eternity, he knew what it was like to 'lose time' in the Force... And simply waited it out... Lending his energy, helping in whatever way he could. He'd thrown himself to the wind, so to speak, to save a friend... Not only had it felt like the right thing to do, but there had been no hesitation. No worries. No wide-eyed smartass remarks... It also felt like something the Jedi[/i] should do... And that made it even more 'right' to him... He looked up at Kabe with eyes, nodding in silence... He seemed weary, but ultimately pleased at the outcome. He listened as the wookiee spoke to the doctor, and then withdrew himself from the Force, and from her bedside... -c-
"Hmm... I think I might pass out for a while after that..." he says softly, running his hands through his shoulder length hair. There was no sarcasm, just an open honesty with no intentions to be witty or comical.... -e-

Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe turned again to the padawan. "I think you've earned it. You've taken another step into a larger role. Check in with Caedmon first though. He seems to have a habit of misplacing you." He chuckled as he finished, and gestured for everybody that didn't belong to be out. He knew that Leiyn would be fine. Jer could stay if he liked. He glanced at the clock..It was now roughly the middle of the night, were he still planetside. He stretched and pressed his palms to the antiseptic white ceiling. <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Jeryndi nodded, a bit pale... But not from lack of energy or anything-- he just seemed to be... a little overwhelmed by it all. He blinked once... twice... and then looked up. "Where did they take the littles?" he asks softly, glancing around. He wanted to see for himself if they were okay-- because he knew they'd be the first thing she'd mention when she woke up and could speak again... And chances are he'd be here when she did wake up, so he wanted to know, for when she asked... he wanted to be able to tell her for sure. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, still running his hands through his hair over and over again... He had a nervous twitch that he got when worried, or when the worry had dissipated for the most part... And it was showing itself in full force right now. -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] He pointed. The direction his finger indicated was the nursery, where both of the littles had been making a fuss but had quieted down now that they were clean, being taken care of. "That way. I'll be back in a couple hours to relieve you if you need." He smiled, and inclined his chin slightly. "Anything else you need?" <e>
Leiyn Dar... Jeryndi Trander...[/i] *Jeryndi shakes his head, starting towards the nursery. "No... I'm good, thanks... I'll probably go and get something to eat and bring it back here-- and stay here with her... I can crash later." HE gives the Jedi Master a polite bow and a smile. "Take care of yourself... Glad you were here...." -e-
Kabraka... Malla... Merek...[/i] Kabe returned the bow and smile. "Glad you were here, and I'm glad I was here too. " He turned and headed out of MedBay. Food was a really good idea. "Who's hungry, he asked Malla, and Merek. Merek shook his head. "I'm gonna catch some sleep. I'll be around in the morning." With that he turned and split off from the wtwo wookiees. Kabe turned to Malla... <e>
