From Ithica he'd gotten them onto his ship and then it was off to Hapes where medical attention would be the first order of business. The coast had been clear enough that there was little trouble getting them on board the Justicar and off world. There was little trouble in space, too. Landing on Hapes, however, after being treated and settled in Solomon's own home, after questions were asked by Trinity and the Spiders were given the chance to see the kids again, after meals had been eaten and medication taken, bacta patches replaced and minor wounds seen to, the true talking began.
The plan was simple. Solomon would deliver the money to The Hutts via courier, and the Spiders would remain where they were protected. Newe-un and Annie were going to get no where near anything that had to do with the Hutts ever again. It would be done under Spider's name, through Newe-un's account with all funds coming from one of Solomon's. The shell account would immediately be shut down afterward, erased from existence to keep the funds from being backtracked.
Sol could do it. Something like that was a walk in the park compared to some of the other systems he'd gotten himself into over the years. It was a breeze when compared to trying to break code devised by Sadhric Tlin. It wasn't without its own set of dangers, though. Security for the Galactic Bank Association was pretty tight, and Solomon was well without the safety net that Sadhric had run for years, combing the holonet for any and all references or links to Solomon himself. The Watchdog program had been revoked and with Sadhric gone there was no re-instatement. Solomon was working on his own version of it, but it was taking time. Time and resources that he needed allocated to finding The Mechanic, resources that needed to be spent on watching over Mandalore and its progress.
He'd have to be careful not to lead them back to Hapes, not to lead them back to his name. There were ways to do this, but it would complicate things more and Spider and Annie were not going anywhere while he got it done.
They'd tried it Newe-un's way for years, and it had been working. It worked well enough that Sol had been able to keep The Hutts from breathing down their necks, it had been good enough for them to have started a life together. It had been good enough for them to help Sol in return when he needed a safe haven for his daughter. It didn't last forever. And so now, it was his turn whether Newe-un and Annie wanted to accept the help now or not. That had been the agreement when he bought the house on Cynix, when he'd outfitted it with security that bottled the house up tighter than an Empire era Star Destroyer.
He couldn't do any of this from his home, however. It was unlikely that it would be tracked back there but the risks, as low as they were, were still too high for him. He had two children, he had Trinity. He had a life he was building. He had to get to Bastion. He had to talk to Lyla. That would get the ball rolling.
