Ureala:
By the time he'd gotten there, a lot had happened. Ureala's room was surrounded by numerous CorSec agents. They would have taken her into H.Q. but with the amount of medical attention that she had needed, they could not risk taking her out of a medical environment. She sat, her room darkened, testing the servos of her left arm. She was watching the mechanical fingers curl and uncurl with each movement, distracting herself from her own thoughts.
Kabe:
The mottled sky of hyperspace painted the Legacy's cockpit in otherworldly light and colors as Kabe watched the distance counter tick down so fast that the eye couldn't fully keep up. All haste had been made to get to Corellia as the wookiee Jedi raced time and his own sense of urgency. He just hoped he hadn't been too late. The navicomputer beeped that they were prime for reversion to realspace. He nudged a bar and the tunnel of hyperspace shattered abruptly into starlines which resolved themselves into millions of glittering stars far distant as the greenish ball that was Corellia hurtled toward the ship like a rock thrown by an angry god. At the last second it stopped, as though that self-same god were fickle and could not bear to complete his own justice. The Legacy began a leisurely approach vector, allowing traffic controllers a chance to file him into the shuffle of ships coming and going to the planet's surface. It wasn't long before he was queried by control, which he gave them one of his traveling ID's and of course a very nice false ID for the Legacy that had been put together by several top drawer slicers out there. Once he was in atmosphere over Coronet City, he reached out through the Force, scanning the minds below, searching with down feelers for Ureala.
Ureala:
He'd have found her, she was burning as brightly within the Force as she ever had. There was something, though, tugging at the corners of the mind. She was not the same person he had talked to just hours earlier. Ureala felt the brush, and turned her eyes toward the ceiling of the room, as if looking up through the structure of the building to watch his ship as it made it's way down through the atmosphere. The young woman took in a deep breath, shutting her eyes as the door to her room opened, allowing for an abundance of light to filter in through the doorway from the hall outside. After a moment, the door shut, and she opened her eyes, watching the doctor who had come to check up on her skills with her new hand.
Kabe:
Kabe smiled slightly, finding her burning bright with the Force. "I'm here. Sorry I'm late," he said through the Force. Of course the words were not always that distinct, but the meaning would be clear enough. He quickly looped around and sat down on his designated platform. Last time he had been to Corellia and Coronet City had been when he was tracking down a bounty years ago. That was also when he had bumped into Murra. From there, his life had turned in a crazy direction, but he doubted he'd ever regret it. He extricated himself from the bridge of the Legacy and picked his way down two decks to the airlock and let himself out of the modified transport. With quick steps he walked over to the belly of the ship and touched a spot on the hull.
A small plate slid back revealing a keypad. He reached up and punched in the code, and a seam appeared in the hull, opening up to drop down a small cargo lift, which a speeder bike sat on. With a nudge, it slid off the pad, drifting on silent repulsors, and he put the lift back up. "Now... How do we deal with this CorSec butt-party," he muttered to himself. Last time he'd rushed into a situation, he'd paid dearly. Still was, in some ways.
Ureala:
Ureala sat patiently, watching the doctor as he tweaked some minor adjustments within her hand, causing it to become more sensative and a little less sluggish in reaction. She'd asked him to make the adjustment after the continuous tests she had done with it, not that she was really paying all that much attention to what he was doing. Ureala's mind was elsewhere. Kabe had caught her attention, and on his sending through the Force, Ureala replied with a sensation of where he would need to go. The doctor had finished his work, and sat back half-expectantly. After a moment, he had Ureala's attention again, and she looked back down at her mechanical fingers. She tested the adjustment, flexing and unflexing the robotic joints.
Kabe:
Kabe hopped on the bike as he listened through the Force, and of course to the Force. With the flick of a few switches, he was in motion, accelerating rapidly and aiming for some sky. On his way in, he'd gotten a good review of the city, so he knew how where he was going fit into things. Easily he cruised down streets and zipped through large access lanes, weaving and wending his way closer to the hospital. Once there, he cruised into the lot and dismounted, then locked and anchored the bike into place. He divulged himself of his grenades, and he didn't even bother with any of his blasters or his bowcaster. He put his remotes into the bike as well, which left him with Flirt, his small translator droid, and both of his lightsabers, which he had disguised as hydrospanners. Nearly all weapons scanners do not register lightsabers as weapons. No special gases, and no galvan circuitry, or most of the other components that make up the main mix of weapons out there in the galaxy. To a weapons scanner it looked like... well just a hydrospanner, or even a writing stylus. He just hoped if the CorSec officers were scanning all the regular visitors they weren't doing searches. Then again, he could make them forget they had found the 'hydrospanners'.
Ureala:
By the time that he had gotten there, the doctor had left her room, giving Ureala both her darkness and the silence that came with it. She was glad to have it back, if only in a very small way. Kabe, in his way to her room, would be stopped and given a pat search. Ureala had explained to them who was coming, and why, so they had been expecting a Jedi to appear sooner or later. That didn't mean they had to be happy about it. This was their jurisdiction, but no one wanted to argue with a woman who could more then likely blow their heads up with a single thought. After those hydrospanners were removed, and CorSec had made certain that he was not carrying anything else, they led him to her room. The wookiee was escorted within, two CorSec officers following behind him closely. Ureala barely even looked up at him as he entered, and she didn't bother calling for the lights. "Leave." She said, curtly dismissing the officers who had followed him into the room. After a moment, the two CorSec officers complied, reassuring her that should she need them, they would be right outside with the rest of the team. Ureala just nodded, not waisting another breath on them, turning her attention toward Kabe. "Lights." She called out after the door had shut, bringing the lighting within the room to a dull glow. He'd be able to see the streaks that stained her cheeks, running from her eyes to her chin. Again, Ureala took in a deep breath and motioned toward a chair near by to her bed. It was so quiet without her boy, she hated the silence.
Kabe:
A glance told the story as soon as the lights came up. Not that he really needed them. His wookiee eyes were better than many. The devastation of his lightsabers were already forgotten as he looked at her. The perversion of her missing hand was enough to spark a desire for retribution, but he waved it away. What was worse, was that he knew that she had lost far more, and in a way that only a parent could. He knew well that pain. He closed his eyes and shook his head slightly. The wookiee sat there in silence, waves of and mixtures of emotions crashing through his mind even as he sought the calm of the Force, but there was none to be had. This defied what was supposed to be. "Tell me... what you can. I'm at your disposal, honor-sister," He said quietly. It was true, by adopting Murra as honor-family, her kin also became part of the same honor-family.
Ureala:
Another deep breath rolled through her as she started to speak, giving Ureala a moment to pause in order to try and gain a bit more control over her emotions. It would not be easy for him to understand her if she could not work through those emotions long enough to impart the details of what had occurred. "Two days ago, I had suffered from a very real nightmare. Solomon and Darien found me nearly burning up, with a lightsaber gash in my leg. The next morning...we lost Darien. Solomon had sent him out for supplies that would be needed to help my recovery. He didn't even make it to the hospital. " Again, Ureala paused, swallowing the lump that rose in her throat. "Sol said he had spoken to the man who had killed Darien. That we had two days to mourn his passing... earlier today, "He came back." She shut her eyes as she spoke, glistening drops squeezing from the corners of her vision. "He killed the guards CorSec had given to protect Jaysten and I. I fought back, I tried..." she said, opening her eyes to look at Kabraka, "But, I couldn't...I couldn't save him, Master Kabraka. I couldn't save him..."
Kabe:
He closed his eyes and sighed, nodding wearily. He was not disappointed in her. This opponent was a worthy one. He knew that much, but he knew not who it was.... yet. "This is a foe that could quite possibly be beyond any of the true Jedi left. Though with the practice we get against Enforcers... I don't know. You've done as best as you could, Ureala. Sometimes our best isn't as good as we want, or as good as we hope. It's no fault of yours." The wookiee took a hold of her arm for a moment, giving it a reassuring squeeze, echoed through the Force.
Ureala:
Nodding to his words, Ureala shut her eyes again, lowering her head for a moment, giving herself plenty of time to work through her emotions. She could cry after this was done, she could weep for however long she wanted. Now, though, at this moment in time, she had to tell him everything that she knew. "Master," she said softly, opening her eyes and lifting her gaze to look at him. "There is more..." She stated, slipping into an account of the man's looks, the way he spoke and how he dressed. Ureala had kept the memory of his appearance alive, calling on it, recalling all the information that she could. She'd even gone so far as to write down Leato's features so that they would not be forgotten. CorSec had them as well, but after what had happened hours earlier, she barely trusted that they would be able to follow, let alone catch him with his gaurd down.
Kabe:
As she described the man to him, his eyes widened. Once she had finished speaking he shook his head. "He should be dead. He's the one that took Murra's life. He is Leato Kan. It seems that Leato was even more powerful than we had thought. You have done well, Ureala. Words sound hollow, I know. I am even more sorry for not getting here sooner now." At this point, he was instantly furious with frustration, mostly at himself, but he only allowed it to burn for a moment, before he put it aside. It was then that he realized he was standing with his fists knotted. Slowly he sat back down and sighed heavily. "This is a new ball game."
Ureala:
Her mind began racing as he spoke. The man that had killed her mother? It seemed impossible. With the amount of damage that had been done to that building, with the amount of Force energy that had been used to take her mother down... there seemed to be no logical way that he could have survived. "He's coming for me in two days." She muttered, looking over at the wookiee Jedi Master, having pulled herself up on her bed, leaning toward him while bracing her weight on her arms. "How do we stop him, Master Kabraka?"
Kabe:
"Well, I'm here, and I guarantee I'll give him a run for his money when he shows back up. I've been dying for some payback. My apprentice is here with me, and she's doing alright. I don't know if I want to get her involved though. She's not had a lot of one-on-one instruction, but she's a very good learner. I can get some help from the rest of the Order, maybe. But I don't think they'd make the 2 day deadline. Do you see any options I might be missing?"
Ureala:
She shook her head, and yawned, then pushed the feeling of fatigue away. Ureala had forced herself to remain alert as she waited for him, just in case Leato had decided to bring his deadline early. But, now, knowing that the Jedi were getting involved, having someone there who could protect her, or in the least do more then CorSec had, Ureala was beginning to feel the weight of her sleepless hours settling on her shoulders. She'd not allow it to come, though. There was still too much to get done before he showed again. "I think you pretty much covered everything, Master Kabraka." She made a mental note to get in touch with Solomon. He'd need to know what is going on outside of his CorSec bars.
Kabe:
"How do we deal with CorSec. I don't think they will want to let me stand guard, trying to play the macho card," He asked quietly. He could have simply walked out of the room, and dealt with them, but this was her town. He'd also expected them to spot lightsabers and start shooting, and they didn't. They had been expecting him, which in a way irritated him as well, so he knew she had told them to expect him. It complicated things, and made them easier at the same time.
Ureala:
"I talked with the detective who has been assigned to our case," She said, "He is aware that I prefer Jedi to be involved, and after the failure of his men to keep Jaysten and I secure, I doubt he'd want to allow his men to even think about arguing with me on that. I think, and I could be wrong, that those men out in that hallway, would be more then happy to give you control over the situation -- even if they wouldn't admit it."
Kabe:
He nodded. "Alright. I won't derail the detective's investigation. I'd actually like to meet with him. Though I hope he doesn't recognize me as the wookiee that supposedly attacked Phobos on Naboo. A quarter million bounty isn't anything to sneeze at. Then I'll see what he's turned up, and do what I can to help him on the legal side, depending on what he shows me. I'd prefer to work with LEO's as much as I could. "
Ureala:
She nodded, "I'll point him in your direction." she muttered, yawning again and covering her mouth to hide it. "I think, for now, though, I should try to get a bit of sleep..." She'd been going forever, it seemed, with as little sleep as possible. If they were going to construct a plan, Ureala knew she'd have to be as well rested as possible in order to help carry it out. Falling asleep on her feet would not help the situation any.
Kabe:
He gave her a slight smile and nodded. "Rest as best you can. I won't be far," he said softly as he stood. Slowly the wookiee slipped out of the room, passing through the door to the guards outside. He glanced back and forth down the hall, then looked at them. They were woefully under-equipped as it was. Just a sidearm for each, and maybe a backup. "Hmmm," he muttered to himself.
By the time he'd gotten there, a lot had happened. Ureala's room was surrounded by numerous CorSec agents. They would have taken her into H.Q. but with the amount of medical attention that she had needed, they could not risk taking her out of a medical environment.
