Character Name: Ko Sundari
Species: Human (estimated mid-late twenties)
Occupation: Jedi Knight, Wanderer
Weapons: Self constructed lightsaber. Also known to carry concealable weapons. Has a preference from blades such as Kukri and Urumi.
Technology: Holdout Blaster and, or Heavy Blaster pistol (under varying circumstances)
Brief History: Details of her youth are publicly unknown. Only two individuals have insight beyond the obvious: her Master, Semyon Lev and her partner, Gen Araii. Out of respect for her private nature, they tend to keep details to themselves.
In the latter half of his lifetime, Jedi Master Semyon Lev had taken to wandering the stars, submerging himself in it’s myriad cultures and offering assistance where needed as the Galaxy began its descent into madness. During his travels Master Lev encountered a vivacious young girl named Ko, with a keen eye for truth and a love for life. He was so taken by her personality and tenderness, that she was initiated as his Padawan. In the years that followed, Ko was subjected to rigorous and expansive instruction in the ways of the Force, but she was never treated as anything less than his daughter.
Master Lev held a considerable appreciation for the importance of a well-rounded education and his tutelage of Ko would reflect this. Her studies were not limited to the scholarly realm, but were heavily reinforced by strict sparring sessions and nearly daily experiential lessons. To Master Lev’s surprise, the average framed youth proved proficient in Shien/Djem So techniques. Always one to find inspiration in the ironies of life, he urged his female Padawan, to pursue and develop her skills in the powerful (and typically male predominant) form.
Ko was an eager student and hungrily absorbed his instruction without fail. As her combat skills increased, so too did her situational tutelage; she readily found herself in the center of civil conflicts and fought side by side with her Master against the surging mobs of chaos. It was during these incursions that Master Lev recognized what would prove not only her greatest strength, but flaw as well; the charismatic, intelligent and cunning Padawan's overwhelming sense of compassion. Her empathic manner was beginning to lead to impulsiveness, brashness and displays of outright proactive behavior. Her intolerance for suffering only grew over time and Master Lev considered slowing her training.
When the planet of Dosuun fell under siege by criminal factions, Master Lev heeded the call gathering together a small force of sympathetic Jedi. It was during this time that the young Ko would be introduced to Gen Araii in an effort to save his homeworld. The pair instantly bonded and quickly grew inseparable. The battles raged on for years, dampening resolve and tiring spirits, but the band refused to give in, as did Gen’s people. Gen and Ko only grew more adept under the deteriorating situation. At the pinnacle of the conflict, as assassination attempts began to fall towards Gen, an increasingly determined Ko experienced a surge in her Force connectivity and resolve, and managed to uncover numerous plots.
As the war came to a head Ko, undertook a decisive infiltration mission with her Master. They did not realize however that they were playing straight into the enemy’s hands and were ambushed. Master Lev would give his life for his Padawan’s. But life was not the only thing that Semyon Lev would sacrifice on that faithful autumn day, and she would carry the look in his eyes with her for the rest of her days.
When the seemingly endless fighting finally came to an underwhelming end, the group would continue on without their leader, realizing the importance of their involvement in the planet’s affairs. They decided to continue their quest, roaming from planet to planet where needed, in Master Lev’s name and legacy. It was Ko who realized Gen’s part and worth to the group, and with her support he would be taken into the band. Soon it would be Gen Araii that would serve as the heart of the rag tag contingent of Jedi. And while all saw Gen in the open they did not see Ko in the shadows, for they were two parts of a collective whole.
Now, while there is more at stake and the battlefield has grown, Ko continues the good fight that her Master had started all those years ago; she was there in the beginning and she would be there to the very end.
