The world turned topsy turvey as Lepri flipped over, slamming her lower back into the floor, eliciting a grunt of pain from her unexpectedly. The hands that had slammed her so violently onto the floor jerked her around while she was on her back and hauled mightily on her shirt front, pulling her under the man. With lightning speed born of over a decade of training a deactivated vibro-blade was pressed against her throat, pinning her to the floor, not by weight, but by threat. She glared up into gray eyes, wanting to claw them out.
"Always remember, the aggressor makes the rules," she could hear Kabe's voice in her head. "Don't play by their rules. Make your own." The situation hadn't settled yet. Showing amazing strength and flexability she swung her leg up from the floor and bashed the Teras Kasii Master in the head, knocking him into a forward roll, and blurring his senses. She reverse-rolled, following him, and snapped out a bootheel. It caught him straight in the chest, taking him off his feet. Her Cathar strength propelled him back about five feet before dumping him to the decking again. "C'mon Merek, I thought you were supposed to be good," She challenged, then stiffened her fingers into claws, which would allow her natural claws to be used. "You'd already be dead Catling, if I had been serious," He returned. It was only a split second before he went into a litteral blur of motion. Teras Kasii, besides being brutally devastating trained for speed and concentration above all else.
Normally Lepri wouldn't have had any time to react, except by reflex. The Force was her ally however. It allowed them to be matched in speed, and while she was no Teras Kasii master, her own self-defense and fighting training had allowed the skill between them to be interesting. Quickly she ducked under his scything arm as he sought to clothesline her, spinning as she did so to plant a pair of claw rakes in his right side, then sweep his legs out from under him. The blows rocked him to the side, and he rolled with it, saving him from the embarrasment of being swept. "Enough," Another voice resonated from nearby, but this one was wookiee. Kabe stepped out of the shadows looking back and forth. "What do you think, Merek?" The man was panting slightly but not from pain, though he held a hand to his ribs. "She'll do though I think she fights too 'soft'. That kick was kind of slow, I felt you hesitate. If you hadn't you could have nailed me in the spine and finished the fight. You wont get such a chance from the people you will deal with."
The Cathar nodded. "I know, but I can't be killing an ally, now can I?" Merek looked at her pointedly. "When you're out there, you may just have to. Actually, I can almost guarentee it. Though I mean a pirate ally. I doubt you'd ever come up against another Jedi, right?" Kabe nodded. "I'll do what I can to keep them away from you, since I don't want them trying to kill our objective."
"Don't talk about him like that," Lepri muttered, "He's a person, not some...thing." She glared momentarily at her master, but let it fade a moment later. It was still hard to accept what was going on, but she was a Jedi. She would work through it. That's the least she could do, but in this task she would not accept failure, she would not allow herself to fail. This would likely take all of her training, and even training, she didn't have yet. She'd get it. One way or another.
Hold on Jeryndi. I'm coming.
