"These are the latest?" A blue skinned Twi'lek sat at a large hard wood desk in the middle of a large office, behind her the tall windows let in Gerenthuum's daylight but it was barely making a difference in the midst of the artificial light that already lit the room up. Against her shoulder, her lekku twitched in thought, throbbing near the tips causing them to pulse gently. She was looking at schematics. There were a dozen or so different designs that had been laid out before Mercy Trang, Madam President of the Daimon Republic.
The native young man who stood at the other side of her desk nodded his head, the close cut dark hair on his head shifting not a bit with the action, "Yes, ma'am. There are some concerns, though, with compatibility. We're still working on feeling out the rough edges."
Looking up from one of the layouts, Lotus eyed the young man and found herself saying, "Still?"
She watched him nod again, and forced herself not to smile just a little as he found anything to look at but Mercy Trang.
"It would go a lot better if we had --"
He had began, but Mercy cut him off with a motion from her right hand and the creak of her chair as she rose from where she had been seated, "I think you need to stop right there and re-think whatever you were about to say. More time? More money? More help? Until we start seeing results, Nije, there will be no more time, no more money, and no more help. You have two days to get back to me with some good news." She paused, waiting to see the young native nod just one more time before she motioned toward the door of her office, "Go on, get back to work."
She remained standing as Nije left, and then hit a panel on her desk's inlaid comm system, "Haller, come in please." There was no direct response to that but a few moments later the nervous handed man was slipping past the doors of the president's office.
"Y-y-yes, Madam?"
The stutter from Haller was met with a kind eye as Mercy crossed the room to greet him. "I need you to do something for me Haller."
The look she got from the aide was expectant. He never had to ask what she wanted, his expressions were often enough more than what was required to get her to elaborate, which she did with a bit of a sigh, "I need you to get me someone who can find Solomon Tekal."
