Niko:
By the time Ja'eeth would catch back up with Nikolaus, he had just reached the exit for the central building, preparing to head out and towards the building his teams' quarters had been assigned to. A datapad was in hand, his fingers working over keys sending out messages.
Ja’eeth:
"There you are." She wasn't breathless, but the set of her shoulders dropped as she came within sight of the Prince of Hapes. Those words were said more to herself than to him, more muttered than spoken aloud, more Mando'a than basic. Her shadow had been sent away, Ja'eeth telling the man that she'd catch up with him later at some point during the hunt for Nikolaus, and now that she had found him, Ja'eeth was making her way toward the Prince just as he was readying to step out of the central building, "Your Princely-ness!" She called, still some short distance behind him.
Niko:
Whether he heard her or not, the Buffton didn't slow or hesitate a step before moving through the exit.
Ja’eeth:
Muttering some form of foul language, Ja'eeth picked up her pace and ducked out of the exit just moments after Niko had left. The curse had something to do with god damned stubborn-headed .....before she was in motion. "Nikolaus," the roll of her accent turned the 'i' in his name into two 'ee's.
Niko:
"Can I help you?" he asked casually in return without looking, without slowing down. His steps were retracing back towards the compound and they were keeping his quick pace.
Ja’eeth:
"Yeah," thick basic there as she worked on closing the distance, her strides long, "Slow down."
Niko:
His pace slowed but didn't stop.
Ja’eeth:
"Alright, now, how about stopping for me?" She was almost right behind him, but thought better than to reach out for him just incase.
Niko:
Stopping at once and spinning around, the annoyed expression on the Prince's face couldn't be missed. "Yes, what is it?"
Ja’eeth:
He had stopped suddenly, and she had to react quickly to not run into him. "Are you alright?"
Niko:
"Never better."
Ja’eeth:
"Right, well," a breath was taken, "Let's just cut to it then, shall we? Tlin wants to assure you that he is handling the situation. Until he can meet with you, I'm at your service."
Niko:
A humorless grin crossed Niko's face. "Oho. A sudden change of attitude. It's unfortunate you had to be reminded that not only am I a guest of Tlin's, but that I am a Prince of the nation that yours surrendered to and currently occupy you."
Ja’eeth:
"There are only -two- reasons I stepped in, your worshipfulness, and both have just been listed by you. I don't -need- to be reminded of anything. What I -need- is for you to keep yourself out of situations like that."
Niko
"Situations like that are going to happen, and that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is your dismissal of the situation as if it was of no consequence. Your dismissal of me as if I were none off of Hapes."
Ja’eeth:
"My dismissal of you was -nothing- personal. My dismissal of the situation came at the cost of putting myself between Jegoth, his men, and you. I interfered where I shouldn't have. The situation was between the Ordis and you. -I put myself in their way to get you out of it.-"
Niko:
"What authority do you have?" He asked with curiosity, not as a challenge.
Ja’eeth:
"Only what I'm given." It wasn't much of an answer, she knew.
Niko:
Eyes narrowed at her deflection. "And what have you been given?"
Ja’eeth:
For several seconds, Ja'eeth eyed Niko. How best to explain because he just didn't seem to understand what her previous statement was meant to be. "My authority comes more from the people I know more than any given rank or title."
Niko:
The Buffton eyed her for a long moment before responding. "So.. none, in an official capacity."
Ja’eeth:
"That is correct" There was a slight, but proud nod. Ego was not in this, but more a rising to meet any challenge that might come from her response.
Niko:
"Then I have no further use of you," he stated simply. There was no malice or contempt in his tone, only fact.
Ja’eeth:
"Might I suggest, then, that you relate that to The Mand'alore so your time is not wasted again in the future by someone as lowly as myself." There was a sour note to her tone, "And if that will be all, I'll take my leave."
Niko:
"Good idea," he replied evenly with a nod of his head, ignoring her sourness. "You're dismissed."
Ja’eeth:
Her expression tightened, and right then she could understand why Dorara had wanted to throttle this young man. She looked like she was fighting back the urge to do much the same. "Thank you, your Highness." Spoken through clenched teeth, Ja'eeth was ignoring a very strong urge to do something very rash, something that would not end well. She had to remind herself of what she said to the Ordis Clan about him not being worth the blood. Her motions were wooden, steps forced by the sense of knowing better than to leave a mark on Sadhric Tlin's guest.
