Only two steps have to be taken in joining SWRP:
Character submission, and Entering the game itself.
*Character Submission
*A Submission for any character should include:
-Player's Name
-Yahoo Screen Name ID
-A Valid E-mail Address
-The Character's Name
-Species
-Occupation (this also includes Skills and Force Sensitivity, if applicable)
-Weapons
-Technology
-And a Brief History
*A few things that you may want to know before making your submission, as well
-Sometimes, it's better to get in contact with a GM first and talk out your character.
-These are hero characters, but they haven't been their entire lives. Don't submit a character who's already done amazing things - submit one who is average, or perhaps slightly above average, and do amazing things in-game. Even Luke Skywalker was a farmboy once.
-There are zillions of people in the galaxy. There's perhaps a couple million that are really Force sensitive. Try other types of characters, too!
-If you are going to be Force Sensitive, there are various levels of power and so many titles. Jedi and Sith are two of countless philosophies on the Force. Perhaps your character isn't even aware they have power with the Force, or perhaps they know, but aren't really trained in it. Perhaps they're from a backwater planet with their own philosophy. You don't need to be a Dark, Grey, or Light Jedi, or a Sith to have the Force. Finding a teacher in-character will be more fulfilling, and will be rewarded with respect more than popping in as a Sith Lord or Jedi Master.
-Histories are important, but it's the roleplay that makes the character. Remember that. A history is to set up a person's values and prior knowledge, not a resume to see how powerful you can make them. It will make the roleplay better in the long run.
-Be 100% original. Anakin/Darth Vader has been done. Not every ship is the Milennium Falcon. You don't need to be from Tatooine. There are no mandalorians left (you can't be Jango or Boba Fett, or one of their thousands of wannabes!) Make it interesting and serious. Have a real past, not one that is going to make you awesome or like any of the canon characters.
*Entering the Game
Upon character submission, it's a good idea for every player to make a post on the OOC (Out of Character) Board, introducing him or herself. This helps the older players in becoming familiar with new faces, and vice versa.
Though it isn't required, it is recommended that new players make a post on the Character Bio board to introduce a character to the game. If not, or if a player wants to get into the thick of things right away, chatrooms can be found in Yahoo! Chat in the 'Entertainment and Arts User Rooms' section under the listing 'SWRP.' You may also contact other players via Yahoo! Messenger to set up a roleplaying session.
Further questions about joining the game can be directed to the Moderators on the OOC boards.

*For help and a view of the rules and guidelines that players must follow, and for help in creating a character, finding a picture for your character, looking at a map, or looking up Star Wars terms, refer to the links below.
See you in the galaxy! A moderator should see to your post shortly. If it takes more than a day, we're probably busy.
