Also: Hiya, Char!

It's entertaining if you don't think about it. Once you think about it, however, you realize your folly.

It was a good movie for what it was: a comic book turned movie. As a movie movie it was lacking in a lot of places. It wasn't as brilliant as Iron Man -- the first Iron Man movie -- but it was entertaining. Char, you are correct, both Mike and I agree, that Loki could have been done a hell of a lot better -- and the showdown could have been much sweeter, as well.
Bons, if you go to see it, go knowing that its a comic book brought into the third dimension. Don't go expecting some shinning brilliance, or you will be disappointed.

Iron Man was a good comic book movie.
Spider-Man was a good comic book movie.
The Dark Knight was a good comic book movie.
Thor was __________ . a) a way for its makers to lower mass IQ without the inconvenience of mass surgery. b) a fine example of why European men started wearing powdered wigs, frilly lace, and lip rouge--just to make sure they couldn't ever be mistaken for Vikings (that is: "I'd rather look French than like I'm desperate enough to fuck mountain goats.") c) proof that Anthony Hopkins will do anything. d) slightly less nuanced in its delivery than a squirt of pigeon shit to the head. e) All of the above.
God I loved that movie.
